Kelsey started working with animals as a kennel attendant. With hard work and determination she worked her way up as a Veterinary Assistant. She brings a great knowledge of the animal world and a caring heart to all of the animals at Habitat. Her dog Sadie, a Lab and Border Collie mix, was rescued after being malnurished and left in the cold. Sadie just celebrated her 5th birthday with Kelsey!
Sam Garcia joined the Habitat family in April of 2007. Boogie, Sam's
cuddly Maine Coon, is her only beloved pet. Therefore, Sam greatly
appreciates her daily interactions with all the adorable puppies and
dogs who visit Habitat. This includes Habitat's resident pups Louie
and Sadie. Sam has deeply enjoyed working with excellent veterinarians
and mentors, Reed Linenberger, DVM, and Sohaila Maleki, DVM. In her
time with Habitat, Sam has learned enormous lessons in animal behavior
and biological functions of animals. With her interest in natural
medicine, Sam has had successfully introduced Bach Flower Essences to
many Habitat patients. When she's not learning the trade of natural
veterinary medicine, she spends her days as a Pre-Naturopathic Medical
student studying math, biology and human anatomy. Other hobbies
include working with the True West Cinema Festival as the Festival
Director as well as participating in film and video production with
the annual i48 competition. In her spare time, Sam enjoys creating
natural lip balms and salves, apprenticing with From the Forest, a
local apothecary, gardening, reading poetry, creating art out disposed
junk, and listening to her favorite band, the Animal Collective.
As a child, Erin always dreamed of being a Veterinarian. Years later, her artistic abilities and creativity pulled her to study Fine Art at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. A degree in both Studio Art and Art History gives Erin a great background to create Habitats marketing and displays. She is ecstatic to have the opportunity to combine two great loves, Art and Animals! You might find her rearranging the retail store, creating eye catching displays, helping in the exam room or taking continuing education classes to further her career in the Veterinary world.
Erin considers herself a guardian of 2 wonderful companions, Diego and the celebrated Louie. Diego is a very compassionate Himalayan cat and Louie is the lab/mastiff mix that excitedly greets you at the door at Habitat! Both Erin and Louie look forward to helping you and your companions.
